Showcase Cultural Diversity on Campus
Cultural diversity on campus is vital for enriching the educational experience and preparing students for a globalized world. Exposure to diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and traditions fosters a more inclusive learning environment, promoting open-mindedness and critical thinking. Interacting with individuals from different cultures enhances communication skills and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams, skills crucial in today's interconnected workforce.
McMaster is a diverse community with students from 125 countries around the world. The multicultural population forms a collection of different cultures, music, dance, cuisine, arts, etc. By building events to allow the expression of these cultures on campus, we can create more opportunities to build mutual respect, break down stereotypes and foster a sense of unity among students.
Here’s some statistics from the university:
As of 2022, there’s a total of 32,174 undergraduate students. Among them, 17% are international students.
